Congratulations to Randy2009, the first Grand Finale qualifier for the Todd Brunson Montana Challenge. He’ll be playing in the $220+6.60 tournament on August 22nd and if you join him you’ll be one step closer to playing with poker greats in Montana from August 31st to September 6th.
$100,000 Victories
While Todd Brunson gets ready for his own offsite poker tournament, the rest of the DoylesRoom pros were busy trying to add to their 7-figure earnings at DoylesRoom.com. Not everyone was so successful. The $100k saw 568 ante up for the $100,000 prize pool. If you played in it and cashed, kudos to you for outlasting Doc Sands, Alex Kamberis and Hoyt Corkins who all played strong but didn’t manage to cash. Pam Brunson and djk123 did manage to make some money, finishing in 39th and 23rd place.
Kamberis Goes Deep in $30K Guaranteed
But don’t feel too bad for Alex Kamberis. He made up for it in the $30k last Sunday, taking 11th place out of a field of 287 players.
Doyle’s $50,000 Bounty
Momac630 took first place in the $50k Bounty Tournament on Wednesday. But she wasn’t the only winner. Opponent826 took out Mike Caro, EBOLORAMA picked off Todd Brunson and _theSandman eliminated Pam Brunson from the tournament. Each of them earned $1,000 for picking off a pro. If you recognize the name EBOLORAMA, it’s because he packs a mean punch. EBOLORAMA was the winner of June’s Prime Time Fights.

USA Poker Players,
On Thursday December 3, 2009, the House Financial Services Committee will be holding a very important hearing on H.R. 2267, Internet Gambling Regulation, Consumer Protection, and Enforcement Act. If passed into law, H.R. 2267 will allow for licensed and regulated online games of skill such as poker in the United States. In short, it will protect your right to play the game you love online.
This hearing is a very important step in battle to protect poker. For that reason, I am asking you to take a few minutes right now to do three things:
1. Call your member of Congress, today and tell him/her that:
• I am a poker player, a constituent and a voter
• I respectfully request that you attend this very important hearing on H.R. 2267 on December 3, 2009
• I expect you to support H.R. 2267 to not only protect your right to play poker, but to better protect consumers as well as tap billions of dollars of federal and state revenue currently going uncollected.
2. Email your member of Congress telling them why this bill is important to you and why they need to support H.R. 2267.
Visit The Poker Players Alliance more information.
Due largely to the diligent work of poker players across America, we can now celebrate the best vote Internet poker has had in Congress. The Payment Systems Protection Act, H.R. 6870, recently passed out of Committee by a healthy, bipartisan vote of 30-19. While there is still much work ahead of us, this was an important step and it shows we are making progress.
Your Representative was one of the 30 members of Congress who voted for this bill. It would be great if you would take thirty seconds to call your Representative simply thanking them for their YES vote. For some of these members, this vote took a lot of risk to break from higher ranking party members who support the failed policies of UIGEA. They need to hear from you that their vote did not go unnoticed and that you support their courageous stand for your freedoms.
Please call Representative Ron Klein (FL-22nd) at (954)-522-4579 When you call, simply tell the staffer:
* You’re a constituent, a poker player and a voter
* Thank you for Voting in Favor of HR 6870
* Thank you for standing up for my rights as a poker player and as a US citizen
Saying thank you only takes seconds, but it means a great deal for lawmakers to hear from you and will encourage them to continue to support your Internet poker freedoms.
Thank you for your continued support,
OpenPokerUSA Team,
Good Luck Everyone!!
